Running is something we can all feel nostalgic about. As children, most of us have memories of running. Stomping through the house or gliding across the playground. Running was my thing. I was fast. One of the fastest at my school. Never lost a race up until junior high. I got older and running was no longer something I thought about. That is, until I rediscovered what it could do for me.
Running has become my time to de-stress. To travel. To become enlightened. To be alone. To push myself further than I assumed I would go, both physically and mentally, in this life or another. My ability to run for extended periods of time has undoubtedly made my life one that I'm happy to continue living. It has given me, on my worst days, a reason to continue on. I have significant drive to wake up and walk out the door with a very strict plan in place on my best days. Moving across pavement in the dark with nothing but my breathing to attend to, gives me a sense of purpose. And it gives me the ideas I will share with you here.
